Jan Nepomucký - Statue

The original chapel with a statue of St. Jan Nepomucký in Liboc was built in the 18th century and stood in the enclosure wall of the courtyard No. 10, which belonged to the Břevnov Monastery. Until 1980, the farm was protected as a monument. However, it was then stripped of protection and demolished to make way for prefabricated housing. The chapel was supposed to be preserved, but during the demolition of the area, it was also demolished contrary to the decision. Statue of St. Jan Nepomucký on a pedestal was saved by Polish construction workers and remained wrapped in plastic. It was removed in 1986, when a new wall was built around today's pizzeria. An inaccurate replica of a baroque chapel was built in a slightly different place in 1988, and the original baroque statue was returned to it in November 1989. In May 2008, a modern replica of the chapel was built in the locality near "Brůdek". The statue placed here is a copy, created according to the original Baroque model.
