Na místě dnešní štaufské kaple ovšem původně stála menší obdélníková, pravděpodobně rovněž sakrální stavba, spadající do vohburgské vývojové fáze chebského hradu. The construction of the chapel began at the end of the 12th century in the area of the abolished Slavic burial ground. Many skeletons were broken while digging its foundations. In the place of today's Štauf Chapel, however, there originally stood a smaller rectangular, probably also a sacral building, belonging to the Vohburg development phase of the Cheb Castle.

Der Bau ist zweigeschossig und weisst eine lange Geschichte als königlicher Betort auf. Wunderschöner mittelalterlicher Bau. Impressive, well-preserved and beautifully restored medieval castle chapel from the Staufer period. Can be visited as part of a castle tour. The building is two-story and has a long history as a royal place of worship. Beautiful medieval building.

Kolem kaple můžeme spatřit zbytky náhrobků a trosek bývalých staveb na hradě. Chapel from the end of the 12th century. The chapel is divided into two parts above each other. The lower part is in the late Romanesque style and the upper part is already Gothic. Around the chapel we can see the remains of tombstones and the ruins of former buildings in the castle.

Klenba na štíhlých sloupech se zdobenými hlavicemi... Obvykle zde není mnoho lidí. The most interesting part of the castle in Cheb.
