Kaple sv. Viléma Akvitánského Stavbu kaple iniciovala kněžna Vilemína z Lobkowicz, rozená z Altahnu a prováděl ji pravděpodobně roudnický stavitel Petr Pavel Columbani podle návrhu Octavia Broggia. Jeronýma a Marie Magdalény. Viléma a novým sirotčincem si vyžádala novobarokní řešení poznamenané secesní ornamentikou. ------ Chapel of St. Vilém Aquitaine The construction of the chapel was initiated by Princess Vilemina of Lobkowicz, born from Altahn and probably was executed by Roudnice's builder Petr Pavel Columbani on the proposal of Octavio Broggia. The chapel was built as a non-oriented central object with concave surfaces with sharp tips. A fresco by Václav Vařinec Reiner was probably placed on the façade with the shield attachment. Next to the shield are the statues of St. Jerome and Mary Magdalene. The portal is covered with sandstone. There are two angels holding an alliance lobkowicz-althan coat of arms with the monogram "F in A" (Fürstin von Althan). The roof consists of domes with a lantern on pendants. The ceiling is decorated with a fresco of the Holy Trinity that appears above the globe. The grouping of angels on the frescoes holds symbols of the Lord's martyrdom. The author of the frescoes is Václav Vavřinec Reiner. House no. 672 (Kohliq's House) It stands at Purkyne Square on the right side of the chapel (if you're facing it), so the southwest of it. Kohlíček's House is proof of the architectural situation in the first decade of the 20th century. The Art Nouveau used to be developing together with some historicaly based styles, such as Neo-Baroque. Architects often designed according to need and requirements in several styles at one time. In the case of house with descriptive number 672 the need for optical coherence with the baroque chapel of St. Vilém and the new orphanage demanded a neo-Baroque solution marked by Art Nouveau ornamentation.
Chapel of St. William of Aquitaine The construction of the chapel was initiated by Princess Vilemína of Lobkowicz, born in Altahn, and was probably carried out by the Roudnice builder Petr Pavel Columbani according to the design of Octavio Broggio. The chapel was built as an undirected headquarters with concave surfaces with sharp points. A fresco by Václav Vařinec Reiner was probably placed on the façade with a gable extension. Next to the shield are statues of St. Jerome and Mary Magdalene. The portal is lined with sandstone profiled sheeting and crowned with volutes. The author of the frescoes is Václav Vavřinec Reiner. Reiner is also credited with the authorship of the altarpiece with the theme of the repentant St. William with the hermit. At its inception, the chapel was equipped with a chalice with a paten, a missal and five chasubles with accessories, including white liturgical linen. Kohlík's house is a proof of the architectural situation in the first decade of the 20th century. Art Nouveau was then applied in parallel with the surviving historical styles, and in addition to it, neo-Baroque was still developing. Architects often designed according to need and requirements in several styles at once.
