Первоначально это были просто резервуары с водой - из камня, дерева или жести. Но со временем их стали оформлять архитекторы и скульпторы. Вот и на площади перед входом в замок Леднице стоит такая Kašna, как их называют в Чехии. Название происходит от немецкого Wasser kasten (водяной бокс). Это также элемент садовой архитектуры, используемой в ландшафтном дизайне.
Such fountains can be found in all European cities. Sometimes they served as the only source of water for the inhabitants. Originally they were just water tanks - made of stone, wood or tin. But over time, they began to decorate architects and sculptors. That's the area in front of the entrance to the castle Lednice is a Kašna, as they are called in the Czech Republic. The name comes from the German Wasser kasten (water box). It is also an element of garden architecture used in landscape design.
