The church is part of the castle. It was really warm in the summer.

The stone church, dedicated to the Apostle James, was destroyed by the Hussites in 1426. As the village of Lednice was poor as a result of the wars, at the end of the 15th century it had neither a church nor a priest. In 1490, Christopher III turned. from Liechtenstein to Pope Innocent VIII. with a request that the Lednice Church could be rebuilt using material from the old church, and in 1495 the construction work on the late Gothic church was completed. The church originally stood on the site of today's castle greenhouse and was surrounded by a cemetery. In 1579, the church was repaired, enlarged and newly decorated. In the years 1554-1600 he was in the possession of the Czech brothers, who were supported by Hartman of Liechtenstein. In 1600, during the reign of Charles I of Liechtenstein (1569-1627), it became Catholic again and was used by the Catholic Church until the demolition. In 1616 a bell was made, which was cast in Znojmo and is still in the tower. In 1679, a new main altar was placed in the church. In 1731, the Liechtensteins wanted to expand the castle and park. The church, which was no longer in good condition at the time, hindered them. It was therefore demolished and the cemetery closed. A new church was built next to the chateau and began to be used in 1742. The painting on the main altar was painted by the painter Petr Brandl (1668-1735). Tombstones from the original church were bricked into the walls of the new church. In the middle of the 19th century, the castle and its chapel (the church under Alois II Joseph of Liechtenstein were rebuilt according to the plans of the architect Georg Wingelmüller) in the neo-Gothic (Windsor) style to its present form.

Founded in 1858, the .Kostel sv. Cathedral called Jakuba staršího. It is said to be the exclusive cathedral of the Lichtenstein family.

Beautiful English-style castle ... it is possible to visit the internal rooms and a museum cost around 6 euros .... then there is a nice park that can be visited on foot or by carriage 4 euros

The church was consecrated on October 5, 1858 by the sixth Bishop of Brno, Antonín Schaffgotsch (in office 1842-1870).

I have to correct erroneous reviews. Although the church is structurally connected with the chateau, it is not managed by the NPÚ, so it does not belong to the chateau and is not included in the sightseeing tours! I give a lower rating, because Parish Poštorná allows tours of the interior only before the service. That is a huge pity. It works the same way in Břeclav, in the unique Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. Such a shame!
