Unikátní místo s geniem loci. Doporučuji navštívit muzeum a také komentovanou prohlídku kláštera.
A unique place with a genius loci. I recommend visiting the museum and also a guided tour of the monastery.

The monastery was founded in 1213 by Břevnov Benedictines. The originally early Gothic buildings from 1306 were rebuilt in 1676–1772. The monastery is a one-storey baroque building with a square ground plan covering two courtyards. Today the Museum of the Town of Police nad Metují is established in the largest room called Laudon´s hall. In close proximity the cemetery chapel stands, which is the torso of the former parish church of the Birth of the Virgin, built in the second half of the 13th century. The Baroque reconstruction of the early Gothic church took place in 1712–1714 as abbot Otmar. During the secularization of Joseph, the church was abolished in 1787, and in 1792 the presbytery was redone to a cemetery chapel. The original belfry was increased in 1720 and rebuilt to its present form.

Unique jewel of architecture. I know this place since my childhood. I remember ordinary sisters, I remember the devastation in the time of totalitarianism. All the more so I consider it as the Phoenix from the ash gradually the monastery becomes a pearl that has always been. It is something to watch, what to admire, become a participant in various cultural, educational activities. It is best to come, see and experience everything with your own eyes.
