The predecessor of today's church was probably the Romanesque church, which is mentioned for the first time in 1253, when King Wenceslas I. advanced it to the Order of Knights of the Cross with a red star. Near it was the second, smaller church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stood in the Middle Ages, probably built after Václav II. dedicated Řevnice village the Cistercian monastery in Zbraslav in 1292. The Church of St. Moritz is a single-nave baroque building with a tower surrounded by a small cemetery. An area including a mortuary, two crosses in the graveyard and a statue of St. Jan Nepomucký in front of the fencing wall is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The entire building represents a valuable architectural and urban design (including high-quality artisanal works in the cemetery area). It is also mentioned in the sources as the Church of Saint Maurice (Mořic), possibly as the Church of the Virgin Mary and St. Mauritius (with dual initiation). The construction of the church began in 1749 and was ordained by the Grand Master of Julius Franz Wah on November 12, 1752. The Order of Knights with a red star is a Patron of the church.
