A beautiful monumental building that adorns the end of every tour of the monastery. The first mention of the church is from 1357, when the construction of a Gothic monastery nave dedicated to St. Adalbert was probably completed. Under Abbot Tomáš Sartor, the reconstruction of the church into a Baroque style was started according to the project of Martin Alli of Löwenthal. The reconstruction was completed under the abbot Otmar Zinke by Kryštof and Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer, who also rebuilt other parts of the monastery. In 1999, above the chapel of St. Crosses behind a gilded stucco wreath with the inscription SANCTA SINDON in a wooden box found a unique copy of the Shroud of Turin from 1651. The canvas was accompanied by authenticity (accompanying document), from which it is clear that the cloth was donated in 1651 . Nicholas in the Old Town of Prague. The Broumov copy is almost identical in size to the original (4.36 m long and 1.1 m wide). The painting on linen canvas is painted in four shades of brown. A figure 170 to 180 cm high can be seen on the canvas in a special way from the front and back. In the middle is painted the inscription "pulled from the original". There are about forty similar historical copies in the world, but Broumov is the only one in Central Europe (north of the Alps) and it is also one of the most successful. The Broumov copy is almost the same size as the original (4.36 m length and 1.1 m width). The linen canvas is painted in four shades of brownish color. On a canvas, a figure of 170 to 180 cm in height from the front and back side can be seen (like the original). In the center the inscription "drawn from original" is painted. There are about 40 similar historical copies in the world, but Broumov is the only one in Central Europe (north of the Alps) and also one of the most successful. You can see it as part of a tour of the monastery (outside the church).

Beautiful place, breathtaking baroque building. This monastery has one of the most beautiful and oldest libraries in Europe, but we were especially interested in the chapel, which is decorated in the Baroque style. It freezes from this place. And important information: the Broumov monastery owns one of the three copies of the Turin Canvas, which was created according to the original model. I definitely recommend visiting this place.

Baroque gem, one of the most ornate churches that underwent the reconstruction of the father and son of the Dientzenhofer. Accessible during a tour of the Broumov Monastery and during mass or various concerts. Over one of the altars, a copy of the Turin Canvas was found by chance at the time in the 1990s, and is now on display in the monastery's refectory and can be viewed during a tour. It is definitely worth a visit.
