Since 1997, a copy of a labyrinth whose original is located in Chartres Cathedral near Paris has been painted in Prague Vyšehrad. The painting has been renewed several times with a new color paint over the years, but recently it has been seen that the last labyrinth has already been restored. Painted also serves as a parking lot and sometimes the labyrinth is a problem

Asi 7 krát obnovené bludiště. Už by to zase bylo potřeba.
About 7 times restored maze. It would be needed again.

The roughly fifteen-meter labyrinth painted in white on the asphalt beside the old and new provost's buildings is a copy of the labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral from 1197 set in the floor near the main nave. At the time of its creation, it was no rarity, being depicted in other medieval churches too, but after the Council of Trent these images were removed because they allegedly referred too much to pagan traditions. In the town of Chartres, the labyrinth is said to have been preserved only because the canons did not have the money to make a new floor. Vyšehrad copy was made in June 1997. Esoteric impression is somewhat spoiled by parking cars, but it will certainly find its fans. However, the well-preserved historic buildings of provostry are damn worth seeing as well! :)
