Tasteful use of parking for children and culture.

Since 1997, a copy of a labyrinth whose original is located in Chartres Cathedral near Paris has been painted in Prague Vyšehrad. The painting has been renewed several times with a new color paint over the years, but recently it has been seen that the last labyrinth has already been restored. Painted also serves as a parking lot and sometimes the labyrinth is a problem

The about 15-meter labyrinth painted white on the tarmac of the old and new rectory building is a copy of the labyrinth from Chartres Cathedral in 1197, set into the floor of the main nave. At the time of its creation, it was not a rarity, other medieval churches also had it, but after the Council of Trent they were removed because they allegedly resembled pagan traditions. In the historic town of Chartres, the labyrinth is said to have survived only because the canons did not have the money for a new floor. The Vyšehrad copy was created in June 1997. The esoteric impression is somewhat spoiled by parked cars, but the work will certainly find its fans. However, the well-preserved historic buildings of the rectory are also worth seeing. The roughly fifteen-meter labyrinth painted in white on the asphalt beside the old and new provost's buildings is a copy of the labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral from 1197 set in the floor near the main nave.
