★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sv. Petr poručil čertovi nosit kameny na stavbu kostela. Čert se vsadil s vyšehradským knězem, že přinese sloup ze římského svatopetrského chrámu ještě před koncem mše. Ale sv. Petr ho u Benátek třikrát svrhnul do moře. Čert se zpozdil, sázku prohrál. Vztekle mrštil sloupem na vyšehradskou skálu a rozbil ho na tři kusy.
 St. Peter ordered the devil to wear stones for the construction of the church. The devil bet with the Vyšehrad priest to bring a pillar from the Roman St. Peter's Church before the end of the Mass. But St. Peter dropped him three times into the sea at Venice. The devil was late, he lost the bet. He hurled the column angrily at the Visegrad rock and smashed it into three pieces.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jedno z nejvíce mystických míst na Vyšehradě. Čertovy kameny vypadají jako moderní dílo, ale na tomto místě stojí od konce 19. století a jejich původ je nejasný. Sloupy jsou z žuly z Posázaví, která se pro svou velmi vysokou tvrdost obvykle nepoužívala ke stavbě a dohromady váží více než 3 tuny. K čemu sloupy původně sloužili, jak se sem dostaly a v jaké době vznikly, o tom existují pouze spekulace.
One of the most mystical places in Vyšehrad. Devil's stones look like a modern work, but they have been standing here since the end of the 19th century and their origin is unclear. The columns are made of granite from Posázaví, which, due to its very high hardness, was not usually used for construction and together weighs more than 3 tons. What the columns originally served, how they got here and at what time they were created, there is only speculation about it.
