Sochy byly původně umístěny na Palackého mostě na střechách mýtních domků. Na pražské straně stála sousoší Přemysl a Libuše (kněžna pozdviženou paží směřovala k Hradčanům a tím evokovala svou věštbu: „Vidím město veliké, jehož sláva hvězd se bude dotýkat.“) a Lumír a Píseň (byli šikmo obráceni k Vyšehradu, což odpovídalo Lumírově poslední písni, ve které pěl právě o Vyšehradu). Na smíchovské straně pak stál Záboj a Slavoj a Šárka se Ctiradem. Přemysl and Libuše, Lumír with the allegory of the song, Ctirad with Šárka and Záboj with Slavoj. On the Prague side stood statues of Přemysl and Libuše (the princess with his arms raised to the Hradcans, evoking his oracle: "I see a great city whose star glory will touch.") And Lumír and Píseň (oblique to Vyšehrad, which corresponded to Lumír's last a song in which he wrote about Vyšehrad). On the Smichov side there were Záboj and Slavoj and Šárka and Ctirad.

The original statue by Josef Václav Myslbek stood on the Palacký Bridge from the end of the 19th century until 1945 and was destroyed during the bombing of Prague by the US Air Force. A copy is placed on Vyšehrad and it depicts the Slavic singer Lumír and the allegory Song. After the men won the girl's war, murdered or humiliated the women, Lumir refused to sing the hymn of the winners, instead drew the song celebrating Vyšehrad, broke his instrument and left Vyšehrad forever. This story, more than a thousand years old, is still relevant today.

The sculpture is larger than life and depicts Lumir, refusing to sign in the Czech legend of The Maidens' War. Not a must-see, but worth a look if in Vysehrad, it kind of hard to miss as it’s part of an ensemble of four sculptures in the southern end of Vysehrad.
