The Jews are to blame for anti-Semitism. I often hear this sentence in discussions, even from people I respect. I have always left this sentence / comment without comment, not only out of respect for their authors but mainly because I did not have counter-arguments. My experience with the Jewish community was zero. Zero experience was also one of the reasons why I decided to accept the invitation to the open day. Every average person knows the threats facing the Jewish state and the Jewish diaspora in the world. That's why I was prepared for some security measures. I was prepared to have to show the bag, be searched, but questioning the child's name, age, gender, and whether I knew someone at school or not, examining the face to see if I was Jewish or not, was for me. behind the line. It is not only rude on the part of the Jewish community in Prague but also illegal. The name is not public information and therefore I am not obliged to communicate it to the Defender. In conclusion, I must unfortunately state that I did not obtain a counter-argument to the statement written in the introduction. But from my point of view, this is not a confirmation of the mentioned statement. I believe my experience at Lauder School was the excess and bad work of its principal. I hope that this was the first and last negative experience with the Jewish community in Prague and that the community realizes that efforts are needed on both sides to break down prejudices.
