The charming and beautifully renovated small railway station Litice nad Orlicí is located on the line between Žamberk and Doudleby nad Orlicí. It lies in the beautiful valley of the river Orlice and is the starting point (not only) for a trip to the famous castle Litice. It is interesting that the station owes its origin to stone mining in the area of ​​the Divoká Orlice river between the Chlum and Kletná hills. For this purpose, the track in this section had to be significantly adapted to the local mountainous terrain by building a tunnel or massive notches. Initially, however, Litice did not exist as a station. There was only a simple siding, followed by a ramp with hoppers. Traffic from the quarry was solved by a narrow gauge track. Over time, however, mining grew and it was decided to rebuild the siding to the station and thus also to divide the relatively long line section between the railway stations Potštejn and Žamberk.
