 You can hardly see the valley through the pine trees. Climb the castle tower for a view.

The lookout at the place where Karel Hynek Mácha probably stopped during his Krkonoše Pilgrimage in the evening, and the view of the valley inspired him to write his novel Gypsies.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kokořínsko patřilo mezi oblíbená místa Karla Hynka Máchy a proto asi nikoho nepřekvapí, že několik málo metrů od hradu Kokořín najde Máchovu skálu.
Směrovka na rozcestí a cesta mírným lesním svahem Vás dovede přímo až k vyhlídce. Je zde krásný kus přírody a taková malá oáza klidu. Byla by proto škoda, při cestování na hrad, toto místo vynechat.
Kokořínsko was one of the favorite places of Karel Hynek Mácha and therefore it is probably not surprising that a few meters from the castle Kokořín will find Mácha's rock.
A signpost at the crossroads and a path along a gentle forest slope will take you directly to the lookout. There is a beautiful piece of nature and such a small oasis of peace. It would therefore be a shame to leave this place when traveling to the castle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vyhlídka jako taková z tohoto místa moc není, přes stromy nejde nic vidět. Ale místo okolo hradu je moc pěkné.
The view as such is not much from this place, nothing can be seen through the trees. But the place around the castle is very nice.

All in all, the view is not stunning, but close to the castle - 100m, so you can walk up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Asi to tu bylo hezký, když Mácha žil a údolí bylo plný vesnickýho života. Jenže nyní není přes stromy nic vidět a i kdyby bylo, tak na něm není nic krásnýho.
It was probably nice here when Macha lived and the valley was full of village life. But now there is nothing to see through the trees and even if it is, there is nothing beautiful about it.
