For the third time, I was in surgery at this institute, so I want to thank all the doctors, the nurses and the entire staff for the excellent care. You are the best in the whole Czech Republic. Hat down all honor. My greatest admiration

My 4 day hospitalization at OMKOCH without any problem! Food excellent and huge portions - other hospitals should take an example !!!, staff very friendly, care 100% I really praise. Thank you very much for a pleasant time even in a difficult situation. The only thing to blame is such a long wait for various examinations - a non-functional ordering system. I always waited for anything min. 1 hour - sometimes even 4. But that would be perfect, so I'm very happy that we have the opportunity to treat at such a level :)

Our mother was hospitalized in the Brno Municipal Authority for a planned surgery (papillary tumor - October 26, 2018), which was described by the attending physician (Dr. Tomášek) as a less demanding operation of the abdominal cavity (ampulectomy). The day before the operation - when entering the hospital, where she was placed on an extra bed under the TV to two other cancer patients (according to the nurse, two rooms were vacant, but were reserved for doctors' acquaintances - there were two people in two rooms to have privacy). After a several-hour waiting period for admission to the hospital, she was quickly informed that the surgeon (Dr. Sirotek) would not perform an operation other than duodenopancreotomy. Toto Dr. The orphan told his mother and informed consent was sought without the presence of anyone in the family - deliberately - refusing us in the surgery. The surgeon left the hospital immediately afterwards. For the next few hours, we waited for a consultation with another surgeon (Dr. Viola), who confirmed that this operation was performed as the attending physician told us. We learned that the surgeon will perform the most demanding operations of the abdominal cavity (removal of part of the stomach, part of the pancreas, whole duodenum, gallbladder and bile ducts.) 20 minutes before the operation (which should have lasted at least 5 hours). An hour before the operation, Dr. was supposed to come for the final decision. Orphan and did not come. We waited for him in front of the operating room, and in the middle of the sentence he cut it off that he would do as he said and left to perform the operation. The preparation for the operation took place through an all-night bowel cleansing (then we were told by the consulting doctors and a forensic expert that it was also not performed and that it was counterproductive in view of the mother's health). The mother was tired before the operation, not sleeping and under very strong pressure from the operating doctor. The surgeon's arrogant approach, the neglect of medical ethics, especially the lack of opportunities to become acquainted with the risks of the operation, which the mother learned about 18 hours before the operation itself. The result was that the mother died of the risks associated with this operation. We later learned that the nodules for which the surgeon intended to perform the operation were completely clean. The operation was completely unnecessary in terms of need. Little time to prepare, impossibility to decide if the mother wants to undergo this operation. Pressure, arrogant attitude, intimidation, denial of other possibilities, even if they exist (as we learned after my mother's death), a complete lack of a comfort zone. I don't want anyone to experience the feeling of a self-proclaimed authority - a doctor acting with such arrogance and aggression as Dr. Orphan before surgery. I really wouldn't wish this feeling to a person in such a tuned person performing the most difficult abdominal surgery on your loved one. We filed a complaint, had a forensic autopsy performed, and we were told by lawyers specializing in hospital disputes that doctors were overlapping that it was not possible to prove a mistake in the operation because complications required reoperation twice (internal bleeding) - after the second reoperation removed the spleen and the remaining part of the pancreas. The mother died as a result of internal sepsis. The mother became a victim of pressure and complete unprofessionalism of doctors, complete failure in the patient's informed consent and completely unprofessional preoperative preparation. Factual errors: 1. Misleading and misleading information about the planned operation - Dr. Tomášek 2. Insufficient acquaintance with the planned action - Dr. Fiala, Dr. Orphan. 3. Insufficient acquaintance with risks and circumstances of operation, with postoperative complications - commission deciding on procedure. 4. Arrogant and aggressive approach Dr. Orphan 5. Zero comfort zone - placing a bed under the TV on an extra bed. I recommend that hospitalizes take a lawyer with them to oversee informed consent and the patient's basic rights.

On the "Yellow Hill", as the MOU is commonly called, I underwent surgery and later many outpatient examinations. I don't know top medical workplaces in Prague or abroad, but of the ones I've been through in Moravia, Žluťák is clearly the best, rather it's a completely different level. Again, only experts should evaluate the professional medical level; however, even from a layman's point of view, it is a workplace with an unusually friendly approach to patients. The architecture of the buildings also contributes to this; there are extensions from later times, but also Švejd's pavilion from the 1930s min. century is an example of a handsome and especially functional building. Spacious waiting rooms provide plenty of space even during the coronavirus period, when distances must be observed. The little thing often helps - in the winter there is a free locker room for storing coats; when moving to individual ambulances, there is no need to worry about discarded uppers. The only complaint would be the lack of parking spaces, but that is the problem of most hospitals in Brno.

Simply and simply a top workplace, top doctors and nurses. Although I don't like coming here, I am very grateful to them not only for the professionalism mentioned. If you have a problem, do not hesitate and trust them fully.

Another typical representative of the Czech healthcare system (which is, by the way, a sentence that I heard several times during my stay directly from the mouths of local doctors and nurses). And what does it mean? Absolutely disastrous PR and communication. If you do not go there in person and do not spend many hours in the waiting room, you will not know anything. A brutal and extremely stressful daily routine. The sisters are sweet, but only until you have a problem, then irritability and assertiveness set in. Absolutely horrible experience in the ICU. To eat cold soup and mashed potatoes powder. Poor organizational skills. On the other hand, the operations team is, in my opinion, exceptionally capable and they also own my three stars.
