Později náležely Libčice zbraslavskému klášteru, a to až do roku 1421. V době pobělohorské získaly Libčice Lobkovicové. Libčice patřili Lobkovicům až do roku 1848. The territory of Libčice has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Archaeologists have identified three large settlement groups, consisting of human dwellings and burial sites from prehistoric times, on the territory of today's city. The first written mention of Libčice comes from the founding charter of the Břevnov monastery from 993. In 1159, King Vladislav II. donated Libčice to the Maltese monastery in Prague. Later Libčice belonged to the Zbraslav monastery and so was until 1421. At the time after the Bílá Hora battle, the Lobkovic family gained Libčice. The village belonged to the Lobkowicz family until 1848. Today there are around 3,500 inhabitants here. The village is divided into three parts - Libčice nad Vltavou, Letky and Chýnov.
