★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 18. června 1942 svedli parašutisté v kostele svatých Cyrila a Metoděje svůj poslední boj proti mnohonásobné přesile. Byli mezi nimi i Josef Gabčík a Jan Kubiš, členové skupiny Anthropoid, kteří provedli úspěšný atentát na Reinharda Heydricha. Jejich mrtvá těla vynesli nacisté z kostela na chrámových kobercích a položili na zem na rohu Václavské ulice. S nimi také ostatky Jana Milíče Zelenky, odbojáře a spolupracovníka parašutistů, který zemřel vlastní rukou o den dříve. Místa připomínají tabulky vsazené do chodníku, na každé je jméno, název výsadku nebo odbojové skupiny a datum narození a úmrtí.
 On June 18, 1942, paratroopers in the church of Saints Cyril and Methodius fought their last fight against multiple odds. Among them were Josef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, members of the Anthropoid group, who carried out a successful assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. Their dead bodies were brought by the Nazis from the church on the temple carpets and laid on the ground at the corner of Wenceslas Street. Also with them are the remains of Jan Milíč Zelenka, a resistance fighter and a paratrooper who died his own hand the day before. Places resemble tables set in the pavement, each with a name, the name of a landing or resistance group, and the date of birth and death.
