The central square of the city is the largest in the country (139x193 m) and the largest in Europe. It arose in 1295 during the laying of the city. It is surrounded by an ensemble of decorated, historically valuable, houses. The gothic cathedral of St. Bartholomew (katedrála sv Bartolomeje, 1295) is considered a real decoration of the city and square. This is the country's highest temple - its bell tower rises to 102 meters, and from the observation deck (at an altitude of 65 m). Shock the years of construction to 100 years .... But especially liked the original form of the fountains. The project of the three fountains Fountain at Pilsen, located on the Republic Square in Pilsen, was developed by the architectural bureau Ondřej Císler back in 2004. However, the city took six years to decide on the start of construction. The decision was made immediately, as soon as it became known that Pilsen would become the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2015. Fountains were ordered by the city in order to occupy the empty corners of the square. The source of inspiration for creating the fountains was the figures of animals located on the coat of arms of the Pilsen region - a camel, an angel and a dog. Located on the border of sculpture and architecture, fountains create their own atmosphere around themselves. The city is not big, but a lot of interesting things. It is a pity the weather failed and the photo is a bit dark :(
