The ferry and the ford below the weir originally served to connect both banks of the Berounka. In 1865, the pride of the Novohuťskýs was completed - an iron bridge with a wooden road. In honor of Prince Fürstenberg - one of the investors - it was called Max Bridge. When it was torn down by a flood in 1872, a new iron bridge with stone pillars was built in its place two years later. The cost of its construction was very high at that time, so until the beginning of the First Republic, tolls were collected. In 1965, the steel structure was replaced by reinforced concrete, which was laid on the original sandstone pillars. For the connection of both banks of Berounka originally the ferry served near the weir. In 1865 the pride of local "New Ironworks" employees was completed - an iron bridge with a wooden road.
