An inconspicuous and quiet village (about 500 inhabitants live here permanently) is often called one of the gates to the Bohemian Paradise. Mainly due to the Mladějov railway station in Bohemia, located on the railway line from Mladá Boleslav to Libun and Stará Paka (completed in 1906), there is good accessibility, especially to Mladá Boleslav. From March 30 to October 28, every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday is even built by the Podtrosecký express train, which travels from Prague to the area of ​​Český ráj and Prachovské skal, to Jičín and back. From the bus stop in the center of the village there is a red marked tourist path, which leads east through the castle Pařez and Prachovské skály to Jičín. To the north, the blue-marked hiking trail leads to Trosky Castle. There is a large quarry in the village, in which glass sands are mined - about 40% of the extracted raw material is transported to the glassworks by rail.
