The functionalist family and rental villa was built in 1938-39 according to the project of the architect František M. Černý. Although its name is Mölzerova, it was never owned by the chairman of the board of directors of Prague's Electric Companies, Mr. Eustach Mölzer. He was said to be only a covert initiator of the building, and his allegedly family relationship with the real owners of the villa, the Oberthor family, was never fully clarified. The villa differs from the surrounding ones in that it does not follow a street line, but is turned diagonally so that all apartments have an unobstructed panoramic view of Prague. The most famous work of the architect Černý was the restoration of the war-destroyed church towers of the Prague Emmaus Monastery.
