★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice Castle. A bunch of fresh air near the river and the view is a perfect ! The hosts of a castle are very kind and helpful. Big car parking is in 5 minutes walk from the Castle. Very recommended !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful castle, spectacular nature. Castle guided tours are mandatory and only in Czech unfortunately. Non-czech languaged visitors will get a handout with the highlights in English or German. Not very tourist friendly nor very helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Orlik castle is surrounded by very beautiful landscapes, it is located above Vltava river and if you’re coming in summer, the scenery is all green with blue sky which looks so wonderful. Castle also looks gorgeous inside (you need to buy a ticket for guided tour).
This castle was originally a fortress known since the 13th century. The fortress was later rebuilt into the Gothic castle. In the 16th century, Orlik castle was destroyed by fire and renovated later by new owners (the castle suffered from fires almost each century, but this was one of the biggest renovations). The castle is surrounded by big park made in English style from the 19th century. The current owner is Karel Schwarzenberg who is a famous Czech politician. He was Czech candidate for president, senator and minister of foreign affairs.
The parking is paid (60 Kc per hour) and located very close in about 10 min walk from the castle. I would recommend to take an excursion, as this castle has a very interesting collection of old furniture and antiques and large collection of old guns. You can also take a boat trip around Vltava area near the castle (this trip is for 25 min and they bring you back to the castle) or a boat trip to Zvikov fortress located in 13 km away (it takes 45 min to get there by boat one way).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful spot on the Vltava River, just 40 minutes by car south of Prague. Enjoy the peace and Tranquillity of the castle along with beautiful views on the river, especially in sunny days when it fills with yachts and boats. One of the prettiest castles in Czech republic!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really liked the castle and surrounding area. The tour inside the castle is guided only, which I'm not a fan of but I was told our guide was very good and made some nice jokes too. (I don't speak Czech, but of course information sheets are given out in other languages that explain the rooms, you just miss out on the jokes).
No photos allowed inside the castle, but there are beautifully styled rooms, large collection of shotguns and deer antlers. Even one that was shot by Franz Ferdinand!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great castle!! And only like one hour from Prague. But I would say it's better to go somewhere from the opposite side so you can have the view of the castle or rent a boat. ?
