Very interesting technical monument, it's a pity that it is closed.

Socha v krajině. Krásná industriální památka. Informace na provizorní tabuli jsou nepřesné. Vápenka byla naposledy v provozu před 2. sv. válkou.
Sculpture in the landscape. Beautiful industrial monument. The information on the makeshift board is inaccurate. Lime was last in operation before the 2nd St. war.

Zajímavé místo. Mohl by být uveden podrobnější výklad. Údolí je stinné a studené
Interesting place. A more detailed interpretation could be given. The valley is shady and cold

Jen naproti přes ulici najdete chráněný geologický profil mezinárodního významu – celosvětově stanovené rozhraní (stratotyp) spodnodevonských stupňů lochkov – prag, končí zde i naučná stezka Barrandovské skály – Chuchelský háj. The beautiful Pacold limestone works is a technical monument of world significance. It was built in the second half of the 19th century according to the revolutionary patent of the professor of Prague Technician School Jiří Pacold. His idea made it possible to process any limestone without previous manual separation. The limestone forms a standing double shaft furnace next to each other, which were filled with limestone from above. In each oven, a grate furnace protrudes at a third of the height, and afterwards there are two picking holes near the ground. It was in operation until World War II. The later reconstruction was completed in the period 2004 - 2005. Just across the street you can find a protected geological profile of international importance - the internationally defined boundary (stratotype) of the lower-Devonian layers called "lochkov – prag". The educational trail Barrandovské skály - Chuchelský háj also ends here. If you are a geology fan, don´t miss it!

Wonderful technical monument. On the way from Chuchle to Sliven on the left before the ascent. It is accessible by bike, car or on foot along the blue sign. It is surrounded by a low fence. Apart from one table, there is no description of Tom what it actually is. Across the road is also a quarry with a playground. it is possible to go to the top of the quarry where there is a beautiful view. But the road does not go over the quarry but a little lower.
