The beautiful Pacold limestone is a technical monument of world importance. It was built in the second half of the 19th century according to the revolutionary patent of the Prague technical professor Jiří Pacold. His idea made it possible to process any limestone. He didn't have to sort laboriously by hand. The limestone consists of side shafts standing next to each other, which were filled with limestone from above. In one third of the height, grate furnaces open into each furnace, and at the ground they have two extraction holes. It was in operation until World War II. The later long-term decay was completed by a demanding reconstruction in the years 2004 - 2005. Just across the street you will find a protected geological profile of international importance - globally determined interface (stratotype) of the Lower Devonian degrees Lochkov - Prague, ends the nature trail Barrandovské skály - Chuchelský háj. Wonderful technical monument. On the way from Chuchle to Sliven on the left before the ascent. It is accessible by bike, car or on foot along the blue sign. It is surrounded by a low fence. Apart from one table, there is no description of Tom what it actually is. Across the road is also a quarry with a playground. it is possible to go to the top of the quarry where there is a beautiful view. But the road does not go over the quarry but a little lower.
