Памятник был подарем Великобританией Чешской Республики в рамках юбилейных мероприятий, посвященных 75-летию начала Второй Мировой войны. На церемонии открытия памятника присутствовали высокопоставленные гости, в том числе депутат британского парламента, внук Уинстона Черчеля.
Торжественное открытие памятника при участии музыкальной группы Royal Air Force и хора королевских барабанщиков и волынщиков.
Памятник представляет из себя шесть оторванных лепестков, олицетворяющие каждый год войны и потеряные мечты людей, ставшие ее жертвами.
A monument dedicated to the innocent victims of the Second World War was erected in Prague on June 17, 2014. The monument was donated by Great Britain to the Czech Republic as part of the commemorative events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking guests, including a member of the British Parliament, the grandson of Winston Churchill.
Inauguration of the monument with the participation of the Royal Air Force music group and the choir of the royal drummers and pipers.
The monument consists of six torn off petals, each year personifying the war and the lost dreams of people who became its victims.
