Další z pozoruhodných pražských míst. Okolo vede magistrála (no budiž), kostel, Muzeum Policie a ovšem - samotný park.
Another of Prague's remarkable places. Around the highway (well be), the church, the Museum of Police and of course - the park itself. There is peace and occasionally desert and empty. In front of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great in Prague on Charles stands in a dignified place a statue of the Roman Emperor and 11th Czech King Charles IV. Charles the Great was for our Charles IV. ancestor, patron and pattern. The consecration of the church on the day of the feast of Charles the Great 28th January 1377 was Charles IV. personally present.

The park called "Na Karlově" (somethingl like "on the area of Charles the Fourth) was established in 1903 according to the plan of architect Karel Skalák on the remains of the former fortifications at the highest point of New Town and part of old monastery cemetery. Its area is approximately 4500 m². It was designed in a historicist landscape concept, which was very popular at the beginning of the last century. After 1985 the park was modified according to a project by architect Radim Hubička. The entrance to the park is from Božena Němcová Street through a Baroque gate with a sundial. Not far from it is a beautiful niche pilgrimage chapel with a sandstone statue of Charles IV. Access to the park is wheelchair accessible and with dogs on leash only. (In summer at 6 am - 7 pm, in winter at 6 am - 6 pm, locks at night).

Park je pekne udrzovany. Spousta pamatek. Kasna. Kaplicka. Dva pamatniky - Zemrelym policistum a hasicum a Pamatnik k vyroci zalozeni NPDC. Velmi zajimave informacni tabule s rodokmeny ceskych panovniku. Po prohlidce parku jsme pokracovali k hradbam, do Bastionu a Ztracenky. Krasne vyhledy. Vsem tuto prochazku doporucuji.
The park is nicely maintained. Lots of sights. Fountain. Kaplicka. Two memorials - Dead Police and Firefighters and Memorial to the anniversary of the founding of the NPDC. Very interesting information boards with pedigrees of Czech monarchs. After a tour of the park, we continued to the walls, the Bastion and Ztracenka. Beautiful views. I recommend this walk to everyone.
