Modern square

Little space

I do not like the square that is between two shopping centers. Total shame for such a beautiful city!

Square, which is surrounded by parking and two department stores. I would imagine an architecturally different square.

Square walks away. It's not the worst but the best.

Formerly Tržní náměstí - the main square of old Teplice. Originally, in its center stood a separate town hall building with a turret and a fountain next to it. After the fire of the city in 1806, it was replaced by a new classicist town hall building on the northern edge of the square. Old houses with renaissance arcades gave way to new classicist houses. On the right side of the town hall building, a new municipal building was added in 1885. The western side of the square gave way to demolition in the 1960s in the "modern" buildings of the Czech Post and Telecom. After the demolition, the south side of the square was replaced in 1986 by the new construction of the Prior department store - today OC Galerie Teplice. From the east side, the square is bordered by the Fontána Teplice shopping center. It's quite an impersonal development for such a small space. The effort to compensate for this fact is evident in the tree arrangement. On the other hand, the advantage is obvious - the locals have a sufficient "supply point". The square was completely renovated in 2001. Formerly the Market Square - the main square of the old town of Teplice. Old Renaissance houses have retreated to the buildings of the New Classical form. On it´s right side a new object was built in 1885 to help the municipality. The western side of the square was demolished in the 1960s by the "modern" buildings of Czech post and telecom. The south side of the square after demolition was replaced in 1986 by the new building of the Prior department store - today OC Gallery Teplice. From the eastern side, the square is bordered by the shopping center Fontána Teplice. Too much of a pretty impersonal building for such a small space. Attempts to compensate this fact are evident in the tree modification. On the other hand, it is obvious - local residents have a huge "supply point". The complete reconstruction of the square took place in 2001.
