Zachován zůstal dvoudílný areál chráněný příkopy a valy s pozůstatky opevnění a obytné budovy. The remains of the defunct castle can be found on the right bank of the Výmola stream, on the southwestern edge of Úvaly. The history of the castle is not clear. We do not know its original name, even the place itself was located only in 1998. The original name of the castle was perhaps Stará (old) - this locality in the vicinity of Úvaly probably existed, because it is mentioned in the property of Arnošt of Hostýň - father of the 1st Archbishop in Bohemia. The short-term settlement and archaic solution of the building suggests that Stará could exist in the 13th century as a castle of a temporary type. Archaeological excavations that would provide more information have not yet been carried out. A two-part complex, moats and ramparts with the remains of fortifications and residential buildings has been preserved. Unfortunately, the location was damaged by the construction of recreational cottages. In the middle of the 18th century, the Liechtenstein family even dismantled the remains of the castle for the construction of local game park fence. The only trace of the medieval development of the core is a rampart-shaped formation measuring 8 × 14 meters, which is probably the remnant of a simple building made of masonry without a mortar. The date of the castle's demise is 1508, when it was to be destroyed together with the town of Úvaly during disputes between Jiří Kopidlanský and the Prague burghers.

So here my imagination did not "catch on" at all. But thanks to the information board, at least I didn't miss this place!
