Důvodem ochrany je výskyt raka kamenáče, raka říčního a střevle potoční. Součástí ochrany je i jejich biotop. Jedná se o část evropsky významné lokality Stroupínský potok. Cílem ochrany je hlavně zachování současného stavu potoka a udržení stabilních populací chráněných živočichů.
 The natural monument Stroupínský potok is a section of the Stroupínský potok between the villages of Hředle and Zdice in the Beroun district of the Czech Republic. It was declared on 16 March 2017. The reason for protection is the occurrence of crayfish, crayfish and minnow. Part of the protection is their habitat. It is a part of the European important locality Stroupínský potok. The aim of the protection is mainly to maintain the current state of the stream and to maintain stable populations of protected animals.
