Důležitý železniční uzel, škoda, že typická rakouská nádraží rychle mizí.
An important railway junction, it is a pity that typical Austrian railway stations are disappearing fast.

Ordinary town not even in the mountains, not in the lowlands. Not very good service, not very interesting landscape. Attention to the station restaurant. It's fine, but hard on one shift of the Lund and the racist band Orlik :-(.

Ta spojuje Vídeň, České Budějovice a Plzeň. The station was built on railway lines 190 and 200 as part of the Emperor Franz Josef Railway company. It connects Vienna, České Budějovice and Pilsen. Operation between České Budějovice and Pilsen began on September 1, 1868. All lines passing through the station are single-track. The station and the town are located on the main transport route from Písek to České Budějovice between Písek and Vodňany. Today about 4,700 inhabitants live here. The Protivín development is concentrated around one long street stretching from the Protivín railway station across the square to the Protivín-stop railway station.
