★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pub "U Švestků" is a very pleasant place, near the not so pleasant remnants of the Iron Curtain border barriers. A small country pub with a camp site and a few little bungalows / cabins available at very reasonable rates (in fact two people and a tent for one night cost less than two beers in nearby Hardegg village across the border in Austria). Whole site is generally clean and tidy, including the showers and toilets (bring your own shower gel!). Simple, home made, czech traditional meals, including breakfast available all day. Pub is conveniently situated right next to a bus stop and a nearby a tourist information and services centre.
By the way, translating the family name of the Pub's owners into "Pub with plums" is simply marvellous! ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden campsite behind the doors of Hospida Svestku. No signs outside that say camping and even the information building 100m away didn't know about it! Very welcoming simple campsite. One waiter speaks English. Clean showers etc with lots of hot water. Ideal for cyclists! I stayed two nights and would go back. Simple food that can make something vegetarian.
