★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Je to teď krásně nasvícené a z památníku se tím pádem stala jedna z dominant Ostravy. Krásné místo uprostřed Komenského sadu.
 It is now beautifully lit and the monument has thus become one of the dominants of Ostrava. Beautiful place in the middle of Comenius orchard.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bedlivě střežená památka hrdinů, kteří osvobodili, za nezměrných lidských a technických ztrát, během největší vojenské operace na území bývalé ČSR, naše město, coby strategického bodu tzv. třetí říše. Zastřelit chtěli Němci mého prastrýce, tehdy patnáctiletého, před očima jeho otce, mého pradědy, za to, že zajatým sovětským vojákům házel přes plot jídlo. Čest a věčnou památku všem rudoarmějcům a obyvatelům Ostravy, kteří jim přes veškeré nebezpečí pomáhali k osvobození naší vlasti.A většině rudoarmějců, kteří zde mají pomníček nebylo ani dvacet let.
A carefully guarded memorial to the heroes who liberated our city, as a strategic point of the so-called Third Reich, during the greatest military operation in the territory of the former Czechoslovakia, during immeasurable human and technical losses. The Germans wanted to shoot my great-grandfather, then fifteen, in front of his father, my great-grandfather, for throwing food over the fence to captured Soviet soldiers. Honor and eternal memory to all the Red Army soldiers and the inhabitants of Ostrava, who, despite all the dangers, helped them to liberate our country. And most of the Red Army soldiers who have a monument here were not even twenty years old.
