Beautiful villa according to the architect O. Rothmayer, which has been preserved with the original equipment by Jan Rothmayer.

Existují i další stovky mnohem hezčích zahrad.
The house is architecturally austere and clean. Probably the most interesting is the inner spiral staircase, hidden from the outside in the tower, pressed against the back of the house. From a practical point of view, however, such a staircase in the house is problematic for residents. Maybe that's why there is NO really interesting furniture in the villa. Everything would have to be moved to the rooms from the outside through the windows. To illustrate its quality and design, it looks and is ordinary, without any effort to impress with the design or material. Otherwise, the interior of the villa is special in that it is nothing special. The living space of the villa is very modest and small, 1 kitchen, which is also a living room, 2 study of the couple and a so-called music room, formerly probably the son's room. The house does not look very comfortable or cozy. An interesting element, however, are the ceiling lights by J. Plečnik. The garden is not dazzling, although pleasant, but quite ordinary, of which there are hundreds everywhere. There are hundreds of much nicer gardens. The villa is probably a museum because it was inhabited and visited by interesting people. The entrance fee is 100 CZK lower than for the Tugendhat villa, but unlike this one, it is a real gem. The big plus was the lady guide, who knew a lot of things about every little thing in the villa and its owners. I would not appreciate the architect Rothmayer for this villa.

Not very well known among non Czechs but very interesting especially when you compare it with the other villas built at the same time.

Extremely interesting house. Built in the 1920ies. Much of the furniture was handcrafted in wood by the architect, who was also a carpenter. The original interior is mostly preserved. Only the electrical system was overhauled in the 50ies, by the son of the architect, an electrical engineer. Interested in architecture? Don't miss it. It's special.

A Place where a Czech architect had been living for years. It has simply conceived but has another architect said the beauty in taking off all the surplus. Avant-garde ideas and solutions for the repair it was build still actual and replicable. A must to see for architecture and design lovers
