★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ruins of a medieval castle from 13th century on a hill over the town of Starý Jičín. There is a car park near a greaveyard about a halfway up the hill which is free. The walk up to the castle is steep but manageable and takes around 15 mins. Entrance to the castle is free you only pay for the visit to the tower (30 CZK). From the tower there's an amazing view of the surrounding countryside. There is a small pub in the castle but we have not tried it
