Saint Anna chapel

It stands in a forest about five minutes away from the village. The following legend is attached to this chapel: The pious, afflicted peasant eye was washed away from the well in front of the present chapel by the eye wash, and from the gratitude he dedicated the image of St. Anna ate a massive spring near the well. It was in 1820. After some time he had eaten ate and beat the picture to the younger next to a standing ate. When the trunk was to be driven away on a strong, almost new wagon, the wagon broke. The wagon cried over the damage and the steward was astonished. The summoned blacksmith and wheelwright, as connoisseurs, could not explain this disaster because they recognized the car as strong and well made. P. Hynek, the priest of the Piarist order and then the administrator of the farm, had the peasant repaired the car and decided that in satisfaction he would build a chapel and paint a picture of St. Anny. P. Hynek painted the picture, but did not build the chapel. Death thwarted the execution of this intention. Before his death, he bequeathed the painting to Matej Soukup, whom he knew as a pious man and a warm devotee of St. Anny. The fir grew and was eventually garnered with many images and other sacrifices. In 1883 there was a severe drought. R.1883 the party neighbors spoke to build a chapel at that point and use their collections to do their intent. A new painting was hung in a chapel where barely 3 people could stand. In 1892 the chapel was expanded by the order of the Piarist Order and the collections in its current size were expanded, and with the care of Mrs. Matysová an altar was built in it; Anne and on both sides of the altar angels. The altar and the angels come from the Vyšehrad temple. There is a chapel for 100 people. Over the years, until now, repairs have been made. Occasionally worship is held here on important days and especially on the pilgrimage to the day of St. Anny.

Very beautiful place for a walk. Neo-Romanesque chapel of St. Anna above the well in the Jedlovec forest dates from 1893-1896 and replaced a small chapel of the same consecration from 1883. The interior equipment partly comes from the Prague church of St. Stephen's Church and Vyšehrad Church. During the summer service every month. The origin of the chapel of St. Anny was preceded by an event, which is mentioned in the municipal chronicle. It happened in 1820. A peasant with an eye affected by an eye had a vision with a challenge to find a spring of water under a tall fir tree in the Jedlovci forest and wash his eyes with his water. He obeyed and really recovered. Out of gratitude for this, he hung a painting of St. Anny and the place became the target of numerous processions. In 1827, Father Hynek, a priest of the Piarist order who farmed on the local farm, had a large meal defeated and the picture relocated to a neighboring one. However, when the trunk was loaded onto a new, sturdy wagon, it incomprehensibly broke. The blacksmith and wheelwright summoned could not explain the mystery, as it was the most durable wagon they had made. The defeated trunk had to be cut into several pieces and thus devalued. Father Hynek understood that he had made a mistake and decided, as a repentance, to build a chapel on the spot, for which he himself painted a picture of St. Anny. However, he died soon after, so he could not keep his promise. In 1883 there was a great drought and with it a lack of fodder and a total crop failure. In distress, the inhabitants of Strančice turned to St. Anne and decided to build a small chapel. It was built the same year by the master mason Josef Hamáček, but it was so small that it could accommodate a maximum of three people. The chapel and the well were solemnly consecrated and crowds of people came here every year. In 1892, the citizens finally decided to build a larger and more dignified chapel in which services could be held. A truly new building in the neo-Romanesque style was created from charity and collections, according to the plans of the Prague builder Václav Pařízek. The construction itself was again led by Josef Hamáček. Although the work brought the building under the roof, it was stopped due to lack of funds. In 1895, the Piarist order took over the construction, had it completed at its own expense and equipped with an altar from the church of St. Peter and Paul in Vyšehrad. One supporter from Prague then secured statues of St. Anne and angels, originally from the church of St. Štěpán in the New Town of Prague. The chapel was consecrated in July 1896. The chapel was repaired with the help of citizens in 1943, and in 1946 a harmonium was purchased for it. Another repair took place in 1971. In the following years, however, there were several burglaries, during which the painting, three statues and candlesticks were stolen. The altar and the statue of St. were also damaged. Anny. Now the chapel is in good condition again and is permanently maintained. At the well, which is in front of the entrance, there is a warning that the water is not drinkable. Although its healing effects have not been scientifically proven, it has been found that uranium ore veins run through these places and the water is very weakly radioactive. In some cases, therefore, it may have had a healing effect, and the story that dates back to the history of the chapel may have a true basis.

Very nice place. There is only the singing of birds and otherwise complete peace without people. There is a well and a chapel. A pleasant place to relax.

The chapel is closed most of the time, but you can see inside through the bars. If you succeed, it's nice to get inside, as it's small and it's quite cozy. Definitely worth a visit, the surrounding forests are nice for a walk.
