The statue of the saint can be found in a rock gorge on the way from Doubravice to Sedmihorky Spa on a green hiking trail. The statue in the Baroque style was created by the workshop of Turnov stonemason František Fiala at the expense of the Governor of the Hrubá Skála estate Václav Ignác Miksch in 1735. The saint guards the Prokop Cave - one of the many indented notches of the Řetězová věž (the Chain Tower) overlooking the cave. According to legend, Prokop Cave is one of the entrances to the bowels of hell, so St. Prokop also watches over the tranquility of the travelers (so today also tourists). Prokop was a Benedictine monk in the Břevnov monastery and in the time after the slaughter of the Slavnik´family by Přemyslids (995) he went to a cave where he lived a hermit life. In his time he was a sought-after hermit and also a small monastic settlement grew up around his hermitage, which was gradually being built with the support of Prince Oldřich and Prince Břetislav to build the Sázava Monastery. Saint Prokop becomes his first abbot and died here in 1053. Saint Prokop is the patron of Bohemia land and also of peasants and miners.
