Mlýn postavil pravděpodobně krátce před rokem 1858 Josef Kala. Podle zápisu v pozemkové knize byla dne 15. května 1858 uzavřena smlouva mezi obcí Šošůvka a Josefem Kalou na odprodej plochy 49 čtverečních sáhů (= 176 čtverečných metrů) pro vystavení povětrního mlýna.
Ve zvláštní listině z roku 1860 se uvádí cena mlýna 480 zlatých.
Josef Kala zemřel jako bezdětný vdovec při epidemii cholery v roce 1866.
 The Moravian Karst - the village of Šošůvka - the torso of a windmill
The mill was probably built shortly before 1858 by Josef Kala. According to the entry in the land register, an agreement was concluded on 15 May 1858 between the municipality of Šošůvka and Josef Kala for the sale of an area of 49 square yards (= 176 square meters) for the exhibition of a windmill.
In a special document from 1860, the price of the mill is 480 gold.
Josef Kala died as a childless widower during the cholera epidemic in 1866.
