Nice

Nice church in Líbeznice with adjacent cemetery. A beautiful place for believers and unbelievers. I also recommend Sunday Mass.

The single-nave late Baroque church with a rectangular nave was built by Count Nostic between 1788 and 1795 as a replacement for an older church from the 13th or 14th century. The construction took place under the supervision of a mason master Matěj Kinzl from Měšice. Stonework was done by court stonemason Koller. The interior furnishings come mostly from the second half of the 18th century. The main altar was originally designed for the church in Rokycany and is decorated with sculptures by Ignác František Platzer, author of the altar painting of St. Martin from 1881 is Bohumír Roubalík. The side altars were transferred from the abolished Church of St. Michael the Archangel. All three altars are the work of architect František Ignác Preé. The church was completed in 1795. By the end of 2005 it was a parish church. As of January 1, 2006, the parish of lovers was abolished and its territory was added to the parish Odolena Voda. Near the church stands a two-storey Baroque rectory from the first half of the 18th century with a mansard roof. Both the church and the vicarage have been included in the list of cultural monuments since 1958. Interesting fact: it was the first church in Bohemia, on which was installed lightning conductor Prague professor of mechanics Antonin Renner. You will love the view of this landmark of Líbeznice when you come down here from the hill from Zdib, either during the day or at night, when the tower is usually lit. If you like Christmas concerts, the local traditional Rybova Czech Christmas Mass is one of the most memorable. Restorers have been doing quite a bit of work here in recent years, but there is still and will be something to repair.

The Church of St. Martin of Tours as the landmark of Líbeznice, visible from far away is the work of Matěj Kinzl, is the center of a large cemetery and enters the entrance to Mírové náměstí. Sunday service is taking place in it.
