★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I když byla obora vyhlášena za zvláště chráněné území především z lesnického a botanického hlediska, vyskytují se místy přirozené a místy umělé výchozy křídových hornin. Nejvíce v jižní a západní části obory, v samé blízkosti ohradní zdi. Horniny, které jsou zde zastoupeny jsou především cenomanem a pískovcem o stáří cca 100 milionů let.
V tomto lůmku se těžily, jako na spoustě dalších míst v Praze a okolí opuky, které sloužily právě jako stavební materiál středověké Prahy. Použita byla i na letohrádek v oboře, a na spoustu dalších kulturních památek. Těžba v této štole probíhala samozřejmě ručně a kámen byl použit i na stavbu zdi obehnané kolem celé obory.
