Sv. Jan Nepomucký

The statue of St. John of Nepomuk is the work of Josef Malínský. It was installed on Cibulka in 1822 and is the only building in the whole area inspired by the church theme. The statue itself on the pedestal contains the coat of arms of Leopold Leonhard Thun-Hohenstein. The events depicting the overthrow of St. John of Nepomuk from the bridge are depicted on the sides. The same is also the reliefs of the statue of Jan Nepomucký on Charles Bridge by Jan Brokoff from 1683, which used to be an iconographic pattern, according to which other sculptures were created in our country and abroad. On the sides of the statue there are stone prayer knees, above the statue rise to the slope of the stone spiral steps, which connect to the system of paths and stone terraces that lead from the statue to the Chinese pavilion.
