After years of dilapidation, when the church served as a warehouse, it was recovering, although it did not serve the original purpose.

Former single-nave Gothic monastery church of St. Anne from the 14th century can be found inside a block between Anenské square and Liliova Street. The church is architecturally representative of constructions of mendicant (begging) orders, specifically their female branches. The architect is unknown, the donors of the monastery were King Jan Lucemburský and Eliška Přemyslovna, lords of Říčany or Konrád of Litoměřice. The remains of the Romanesque rotunda of St. Vavřinec were found in the basis of the church of St. Anne, near which around 1230 the Templars settled and began to build a monastery. The nave was added on the rotunda and hence the rotunda start to serve as a church chancel. As one of the few in Prague, the church of St. Annie is spared from destroying by Hussites, perhaps through family ties between a devout nun and Jan Žižka. The entire monastery complex was renovated in the 17th century thanks to the gifts of the wife of Emperor Matthias Queen Anna, but in 1782 Josef II. the monastery was abolished as well as other monasteries. The church has therefore ceased to serve it´s purpose from this year. It was used as an apartment house as well as a printing house, now it´s owned by Czech National Theater, and since 2004 it has been used by the Vision 97 Foundation as the cultural center called "The Prague Crossroads". Since 1958, it has been declared a cultural monument together with the Monastery of the St. Anne. Anny byly nalezeny zbytky románské rotundy sv. Vavřince, v jejíž blízkosti se kolem roku 1230 usadili templáři a začali stavět klášter. K rotundě přistavěli loď a z rotundy udělali kněžiště kostela.
