In the places of today's house on Valentinská Street No. 56 and roughly in the places where the tobacco shop is located pastther was a Romanesque church in ancient times. Historical reports about it begin in 1253, when it is mentioned in the charter of Wenceslas I, which confirms the object to the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star. It was abolished after 1794 under the Josephine Reforms, adapted to a residential house that was again demolished during the redevelopment of the Old Town and Josefov. The abolition of the church in 1784 resulted in a rapid succession of reconstructions, culminating in the beginning of the 20th century by realizing the house No. 56 on the corner of Kaprova and Valentinská streets. Archaeological research touched the area around the church especially during the construction of the metro station Staroměstská. In Valentinská Street, the fence wall of the local cemetery was recorded and the various walls of the rich building history in the cellars of house No. 56 were captured. Reliable identification of the masonry of the church did not succeed.
