Could have been 5 stars except for this: First, check your change! The ticket booth woman (older, plump, dyed blond short hair) deliberately tried to keep half our money, giving me change for 500 when I had given her a 1000 bill. She watched me carefully as I started to walk away, looking very smug. Then when I went back and called her on it she was all smiles and apologies. Ha. This is a National Pilgrimmage site. I had just showed her our membership card for the Jewish Quarter from Prague. All she does all day long is take money and hand out change. No way it slipped her mind. It made me wonder if she did it because we were probably Jewish. I stewed about he whole rest of the day. Will it never end? We couldn’t find any guided tour, so wandered about on our own. But we learned so much from the information in the museum and on plaques that it seemed overwhelming anyway. We had read a good deal about it before hand too. We started st the Small Fort and National Cemetery and ended at the Ghetto Museum. You could book a cinema viewing in the Language or your choice, but by then we were worn down by the weight of all we had seen. There was a list on the wall in the Ghetto Museum of the names of all the children killed. We took the bus from Holesovice and got round trip tickets for about 140 Kc each. The bus stop is a ways behind the metro and train terminal. Date of experience: December 2018

Very sad and upsetting place to visit but we felt compelled to go while on holiday in Prague. Travelled there by Metro and Bus. Started off at Small Fort where the Concentration Camp was situated. Walked to Ghetto Museum which was also very sad. Tried to find old Cemetery but gave up after an hour. Sign posts were non existent. Set off back to Prague by Bus and Train. Only the kindness of local people helped us find the correct Bus Stop and where to get off for the Train. A local man on the platform approached us and advised us to use the under pass to get to the correct platform for Prague. Thanks to all those helpful people. By more luck than judgement we eventually reached Prague. Despite the difficulties we made it. We were both sadder and wiser people by finding out about the unbelievable happenings at Terezin. May all the victims now rest in peace. May the World never forget. D & B . Y
