The building is one of the best-preserved Romanesque houses - it was built in the second half of the 12th century until the first half of the 13th century. An underlying area of the Romanesque palace was preserved in the underground spaces. At the beginning of the 15th century the palace belonged to Boček of Kunštát, later also also to Jiří of Poděbrady for several years, from where also comes the name of the palace. The ground floor and floor of the present house is built in the Gothic style and has a distinctly modified Renaissance style. The house was rebuilt by the architect Kašpár the Preacher in 1846.
