Beautiful fortress

Very nice effort of the village Královice on the reconstruction of this building, including the reclamation of adjacent buildings and land.

A wonderful place, I'm already looking forward to everything being completed and made accessible within the Nové Kralovice project.

The original medieval fortress is first mentioned in the late 14th century. Renaissance alterations dating from the plaster on the south facade of the tower date from 1562. The prismatic regular tower has a suspended top floor on rafters with arched strips. Envelope sgraffito is visible under the modern plaster. A small window with a stone lining and a portal in the north wall have been preserved in the staircase from Gothic style. The set of the fortress includes younger buildings of the economic background in the yard. I read on the website that the building has been in very poor condition and dilapidated for many years, so I was very pleased that although I arrived at the weekend, not only in the fortress, but also in the adjacent yard, intensive construction work took place. I can't believe that such a beautiful historical building, creating an image of the significance of the once settlement of the surroundings of Prague, does not attract any attention of passing tourists. It will probably be the hoof of ownership. Well, perhaps the Monument Office and the local administration will see to it that the building is not damaged!

The project forms the new center of Prague's Královice, by the way the smallest part of Prague. The beautifully reconstructed fortress from the 14th century above the slope falling to Rokytka is the dominant feature of the newly emerging square with a pond and greenery. Upon completion, a restaurant is to be established in the "Nové Královice" complex - the first in Královice.

The fortress rises above the village, but unfortunately only the tower remains, which is sensitively restored from the outside. Currently, construction work in the immediate vicinity is underway here. Perhaps after their completion, this place will be beautiful and pleasant. ?
