Tvrziště Mrač

The oldest of the three manors in Mrač was probably established in the second half of the 13th century. This corresponds to the ceramics obtained by surface collection, which can be included in this period. From the fortress or castle, a distinctive fortress has been preserved on a wooded hill with steep slopes southeast of the preserved younger fortress. The area of ​​the fortress is almost flat today, only in the southeast corner there is a large depression after a square building. Two ditches are still visible in the terrain. In front of the fortress is a hummocky hill, on which perhaps stood a wooden log cabin. The owner was undoubtedly Zdislav of Mrač, an unknown family, remembered by the first historical report about this place in 1318. Written reports about the fortress have not been preserved and the reasons why it soon disappeared are not known.
