The construction of the FF UK building is associated with the name of the architect, urban planner and builder Josef Sakar (December 7, 1856 in Liben - January 15, 1936 in Karlín). At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the almost forgotten architect became one of the respected personalities of Czech architecture. He originally began studying engineering at the Prague Polytechnic. before 1877 he moved to the construction department. He graduated in 1880 in the studio of architect Josef Zítek. He completed a study stay in Florence and Rome. In the years 1882–1885, he took part in the restoration of the National Theater after the fire, and after 1900 in the stop plan of the Lesser Town and the Old Town. In the years 1920–1923 he headed the State Regulatory Commission for Prague. He is buried in Olšany Cemeteries in Prague.
