Rušná křižovatka tady zůstala - tvoří ji dnes ulice Sokolovská a Freyova a slepá ulice Pod pekárnami - torzo původní Liberecké cesty. In Vysočany, in the 13th century, due to complicated ownership relations, a natural center was not created, such as a village square, school or church. Rather only formally, the fortress, which stood between today's Freyova, Bassova and Mlékárenská streets, was considered a kind of center of Vysočany. However, from time immemorial, Vysočanské náměstí has been a crossroads of roads that run in five directions. The oldest was the Liberec road, leading from Špitálská brána (roughly in the places where Na Poříčí Street crosses in Sokolovská Street) and in Vysočany around the inn "U Modré hvězdy" and continued through Klíčov to the east and northeast of Bohemia. The busy intersection remained here - today it consists of Sokolovská and Freyova streets and the dead end Pod pekárnami street - a torso of the original Liberec road.

This is a tram stop heading in the direction away from the centre of town. The metro station of the same name is 2 minutes away across the main road.
