Počátkem 19. stol. došlo ke klasicistní přestavbě - podloubí bylo zazděno a později odstraněna i atika. Tímto byla barokní stavba nenávratně poškozena. Při povstání selského lidu v r. 1775 byla budova vězením rebelů, kteří se nevešli do panské jízdárny. V 19. stol. sloužila jako tiskárna Klementových. V roce 1719 byla budova masných krámů přestavěna nákladem Václava Norberta Oktaviána Kinského na sídlo panské správy s atikou a podloubím - autorem přestavby byl snad Jan Santini Aichel. Počátkem 19. století byla klasicistně přestavěna, podloubí bylo zazděno a později odstraněna i atika. Do roku 1949 zde sídlila chlumecká tiskárna Klemensových. V současnosti je budova majorátu využívána jako základní umělecká škola. Před budovou majorátu je umístěna socha svatého Jana Nepomuckého.
