★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prvýkrát sa Hoštice spomínajú s menom Viliama z Hoštíc, v 13. storočí. Dominantou obce je Kostol Narodenia Panny Márie z roku 1593. Ďalej je tu zámok, postavený v 17. storočí, zrejme na mieste pôvodného sídla. Zaujímavý je židovský cintorín zo 17. storočia, ktorý sa nachádza za obcou.
Hoštice u Volyně sú známe predovšetkým vďaka natáčanie slávnej filmovej trilógie Slunce, seno ... Aj keď od nakrúcania už ubehlo mnoho rokov, obec je stále hojne navštevovaná a každý deň ju prezerá desiatky turistov. Napriek tomu, že tvár známej dediny sa už čiastočne zmenila, je stále zaujímavé porovnať filmové zábery so skutočnosťou.
