A beautiful chateau with a large garden and a family tomb of the original owners nearby. Under socialism, the chateau served as a USP for the mentally handicapped. As a child, I spent a lot of time there. Mom and neighbor cooked there for inmates. Unfortunately, there was not much left of the original. The castle was partially rebuilt to suit the inmates. In large rooms upstairs were rooms for inmates with metal beds and modest furniture. In the hallway there were collective showers and toilets. Everything resembled a hospital facility. The kitchen, laundry and other facilities were downstairs. small animals and grew vegetables and fruits.Usp was then quite a self-sufficient facility.In restitution was returned to the original owners, both with a tomb, castle park and other land, including a farm in Troubky.Usp moved to Kroměříž.The owners closed the castle.Long years it remained unmaintained and uninhabited. The tomb was being repaired. It used to be unsecured. Children were thrown there and looted by local hooligans ... Then I moved out. and, so I no longer have detailed information about who bought it or what will be with the lock. I only know from my parents that there was a self-help community center for people who were addicted to drugs for a while. We last drove around about a week ago. It was closed everywhere. There was scaffolding somewhere. The park looks well maintained. The castle was built on the site of a stone fortress at the end of the 17th century. It was modified to its current appearance by Count Dubský in the 1840s. on the slope opposite the castle grounds, was probably designed by Moritz von Ebner-Eschenbach, husband of the writer Marie Ebner-Eschenbach, called the Austrian Božena Němcová. She was born here at the castle on September 13, 1830. Her mother died 2 weeks after childbirth. She spent her childhood with her father and Czech In 1899 she received an honor from the Emperor Franz Josef I for art and science and in 1900 an honorary doctorate from the University of Vienna. She died on March 12, 1916 in Vienna. She is buried here in the family tomb. n It is worth mentioning that during the USP, the film Requiem for a Doll was shot at the castle. In addition to the actors and the then young Aňa Geislerová, the then inmates of the institute also played in the film.
